Karl Dietel: Keyboards, Lead Vocals

A pianist since age 6, Karl Dietel is a 20-year veteran of the Tri-State area live music scene. He toured nationally for many years with Sean Kelly and The Samples. Karl’s flair for the melodic inspired his most recent challenge of recreating the entire “The Stranger” record, which was so well-received that it gave birth to We May Be Right: Billy Joel Tribute band. Dietel’s a multi-instrumentalism and can be heard on over 20 Indy CDs as well as on his 2007 release, “Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself.” Dietel has shared the stage with Bernie Worrell, Brian Vander Ark and Devon Allman along with notables Greg Smith of Billy Joel & Alice Cooper, Angus Clark of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Joe Bergamini of Billy Joel & Broadway’s Moving Out.

Perry Andrews: brass, woodwinds, percussion, background vocals

Perry Andrews began playing Saxophone at a young age and has been part of the New Jersey Music Scene for many years. In the 1980’s he obtained his Musical Degree from Rutgers University in Jazz Performance. In addition to live performance, Perry has spent over 25 years as a Music Educator specializing in Jazz Ensemble and Electronic Music.

 


Derek Davodowich: guitars

Derek G. Davodowich is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA. He holds a BA in Guitar Performance along with a degree in Music Education / dual certification K-12. As part of his musical accomplishments, Derek’s credits include touring musician, recording artist (film and music,) private instruction, and Senior Guitar Editor for MusicPlayers.com. In 2009, Derek’s work with “Days Before Tomorrow” received the “CD of the Year” award at the LA Music Awards. Derek has a very broad musical vocabulary influenced by his studies in Jazz, Rock, Pop and Classical music. His fusion of all styles provides a very melodic texture and excellent improvisational skills sure to enhance any musical production.

Luke Kessel: Bass, background vocals

Luke Kessel is a much sought-after Touring and Session player.  He is a respected musician and is known for his Jazz and Motown/Funk style playing.  Luke has toured with many international Artist thought out Asia, Europe and the U.S. He is known for his Fender Custom Jazz Bass.

Andy Janowiak: Drums

The affable Andy Janowiak is an engineer, arranger and percussionist from Central Jersey who started playing drums at 10 years old. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, he is a professional sideman, running a digital studio by day, and playing drums in the tri-state area by night, sometimes for the Neil Young Tribute, Gold Rush. Andy has often recorded music for, and shared the stage with the late Bernie Worrell.

Jim Ruffi: Sub-Drummer

Jim Ruffi is a veteran musician with national and international touring experience.  He has performed with the Frank Zappa tribute band “Project/Object” which featured long-time Zappa alumni Ike Willis and Ray White.  Jim has also performed with notables CC Coletti of Meat Loaf, Sarah Ayers and Lou Franco, among others.
